Issue:
When a Domino server is upgrade from 6.x to 7.x or 8.x, the R&R database is not automatically upgraded.
There are a few things you have to check before you do a design replace to perform the upgrade.
Steps to Upgrade:
1. Verify your existing rooms and reservations do not have the characters:
< > = | ( ) + \
These will cause errors and their names must be changed. See technote: 1251010: Error: Resource names cannot contain special characters.
2. Replace the design of the reservations database to the appropriate template for the new version of Domino:
Domino 7 template - resrc7.ntf
Domino 8 template - resrc8.ntf
Domino 8.5 template - resrc8.ntf
3. Open the R&R database in the Designer and activate the scheduled agents:
- Autoreminder:
- - Enable/disable feature from the Site Document. You can receive reminders on reserved rooms and resources when enabled.
- Purge documents:
- - Purges documents to keep the size of the database smaller.
- RenameReservations:
- - Generates notices to any users who have reserved the room when a room rename has occurred.
- Update Blocker Document:
- - Limits how far in advance a specific room/resource can be booked.
4. Open the database is a Notes client and run the "Upgrade" agent from the action menu.
(Note: You don't have to wait as it's a background agent.)
