Before you begin:
You need to have POP3 installed and set up and running as a service on Domino.
Edit the server configuration documents to setup POP3 security and port access.
Basically, you can set up Outlook/Netscape/Eurdora to receive POP3 mail.
1. You need the name of the server (see the server document or the messaging domain document aliases section)
2. You need the user's username and internet password (on his/her person doc)
Keep the following in mind for the username:
- The user name configured on the POP3 client must match either one of the entries in the Username field or the Shortname.
- Users with similar first names and identical last names may have problems accessing their mail if they use the short name as their client user names. For example, if there are users with the name John Smith and Jane Smith and you enter the short name jsmith for both of them and the clients use the short name, the POP3 server may not allow them to log in to the server to access mail. To correct this, do not use the short name on the clients, use one of the entries in the User name field such as Jane Smith.
